Privacy Policy

Micro SD Deals ("we", "us") is a price-tracking and recommendation site for SD and microSD cards. This policy explains what we collect, why, and the choices you have. The short version: you can use almost the entire site anonymously, and the only personal information we ever store is the email address you give us — through Google — when you opt in to price-drop alerts. We never sell your data.

Browsing the site (no account)

You can browse cards, compare, filter, and read our guides without signing in or giving us any personal information. Your theme choice, your comparison selection, and a randomly generated ID used to remember your authenticity votes are stored only in your own browser (localStorage) — they never identify you to us.

Authenticity votes

When you vote whether a listing looks legit or like a scam, we prevent double-voting by storing a one-way salted hash of your IP address — not your actual IP address. The hash can't be reversed to recover your IP, and we don't use it to track you across the site. Votes are anonymous and require no account.

Price-drop alerts & sign-in

Price-drop alerts are the only feature that needs an account. You sign in with Google, and we request only the basic openid, email, and profile scopes. From that we store:

• your verified email address, so we can send the alerts you request;
• a Google account identifier (an opaque "subject" ID), so we recognize you on return visits;
• the cards you're watching and the target prices you set.

We deliberately do not store your name, your photo, or anything else Google offers. Your email is used solely to send the price-drop notifications you opted into — no newsletters, no marketing, and we never share or sell it. You can remove any alert from the card page or your watchlist, unsubscribe with one click from any alert email, or sign out at any time.

Cookies

If you sign in, we set a single essential, encrypted session cookie to keep you logged in — that's it. We don't use advertising cookies or third-party tracking pixels. Everything else (theme, comparisons, votes) lives in your browser's localStorage, not in cookies.

Service providers

We rely on a few trusted providers to run the site. They process data on our behalf under their own terms:

• Google — sign-in (OAuth) for alert accounts.
• Cloudflare — hosting, security, and sending alert emails.
• Supabase — the database that stores cards, alerts, and accounts.
• Keepa — the source of our Amazon price data (we send them no personal data).
• Amazon — the retailer our outbound links point to (see below).

Affiliate links

As an Amazon Associate, our outbound "buy" links carry an affiliate tag and we may earn a commission on qualifying purchases — at no extra cost to you. When you click through to Amazon, your activity there is governed by Amazon's own privacy policy, not ours. Every listing also offers a plain link that drops our tag if you'd rather not use it.

Data retention & your choices

We keep your account and alerts until you remove them. Deleting your alerts and signing out stops all emails. If you'd like us to delete your account and the email associated with it entirely, contact us at the address below and we'll take care of it. You can also revoke Micro SD Deals' access from your Google account permissions at any time.

Children

Micro SD Deals is not directed to children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect personal information from them.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the site evolves. When we do, we'll revise the "last updated" date at the top. Significant changes affecting alert subscribers may also be noted by email.
